Q: Do I need to book?
A: While we are very happy to welcome walk in guests, we cannot always guarantee table availability, so booking in advance is highly recommended.
Q: What kind of food do you offer?
A: At The Bull, we have a love of ‘doing things properly’. That’s why we work with local suppliers to source the very freshest ingredients – from our milk, sourced from a local Suffolk dairy, or our mangetout, grown in our kitchen garden, we know how lucky we are to have the Suffolk coast and countryside on our doorstep, and we want to share that with you. As well as fabulous food, we have a selection of delectable drinks for you to try, including a carefully curated wine list which includes some gems from the English wine market, as well as a huge range of wines from around the globe. We also boast one of the best top shelf selections in East Anglia, with some truly unique spirits on offer, including rare Armagnacs, stunning rums, fine liqueurs, and a selection of whiskies, including Japanese, Irish, Scottish and American varieties. Q: Can you cater for dietary requirements?
A: Yes, we can accommodate most of our guest’s requirements, however we do ask that when booking, you make us aware of any requirements you may have. At The Bull Freehouse, we take allergies and dietary restrictions seriously. We strive to accommodate our guests’ needs by providing detailed information about the ingredients used in our dishes. However, please be aware that our kitchen handles a variety of ingredients and allergens, and cross-contamination may occur. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that any of our menu items are free from allergens.
Q: Are you available for private hire/private parties/celebrations?
A: The Bull Freehouse and The Pear Tree Inn can both be hired on an exclusive use basis for a variety of celebrations; for more information, please contact hello@thebullfreehouse.com with a little information about your event, and we’d be happy to discuss options with you!
Q: Is the pub & guesthouse dog friendly?
A: Yes! The Bull Freehouse Pub is very dog friendly and we welcome all well-behaved dogs into our pub. We also have a huge garden area in the warmer months. The Pear Tree Inn Guesthouse has multiple pet friendly options available: The Seckel, The Concorde, The D’Anjou and The Williams. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
Q: Is parking available at The Bull?
A: Yes, we have a car park to the right of the pub, however at busy times spaces may be limited. Please be aware of our neighbours when parking around the village.
Q: When can I check in?
A: You can check in from 3pm. Early arrivals are available from 12pm and will incur a £35 charge. Please ensure you provide us with your registration information here before you arrive – this mean’s you’ll be able to go straight to your room and start relaxing!
Q: When can I check out?
A: You can check out the morning of departure after breakfast, any time up to 11am – simply pay your final bill with one of our lovely team! If you’re in a hurry, it’s no problem; simply depart, and we’ll automatically take payment from your saved payment card and send you a receipt. If you’d like to check out later, please contact us. Please note late check outs are subject to availability and may be subject to additional charges.
Q: Is breakfast included in the price of my room?
A: Yes, a full à la carte menu, continental selection, as well as tea, coffee and freshly squeezed juices are all included in the price of your room.
Q: How to access my WiFi?
A: WiFi is available in all areas and is free of charge. Each room has its own WiFi network, and you’ll find login instructions on your booking confirmation page. The password is Sleepwell! For access to WiFi at The Bull, please ask at the bar!
Q: Do I need to pay VAT?
A: No, VAT is included in your room price.
Q: Can I park at The Pear Tree Inn?
A: Upon arrival, you’ll be assigned a personal parking space in the courtyard of The Pear Tree Inn. Parking is free of charge. When arriving and leaving the property, please be mindful of our quiet countryside location and be respectful of our neighbours.
Q: Smoking
A: We do not allow smoking in any of our properties. However you are welcome to smoke outside, away from the main building. Please use the ashtrays provided. If you or your guests do smoke indoors, you will be charged the cost of specialist cleaning to remove the smell of cigarette smoke from the room.
